A Short History, A Radical Shift: How Matlantis Transforms Materials R&D
Overview:
This luncheon seminar presents the latest advances in Matlantis™−a materials-simulation
platform−and its core technology, PFP, a proprietary universal machine-learning interatomic potential (uMLIP). PFP is widely regarded as a pioneering uMLIP that can predict a broad spectrum of materials properties with a single potential. In the four years since its release, the uMLIP concept has matured into a distinct research area. Amid this rapid evolution, our focus remains on developing uMLIPs that are truly useful for R&D, striking a practical balance between accuracy and computational efficiency.
The first part of the talk will outline our company and technical foundations, the philosophy and development of PFP, shifts in the external landscape, and the expanding ecosystem built around PFP. The second part will cover new integrations with external software and recent application case studies, including simulations at electrochemical interfaces and performance evaluations of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs)−materials recognized in the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Date: December 10, 12:10-13:00
Room: Session 1 (G302)
