Call for Late Breaking News (LBN) Submissions
Submissions for Late Breaking News (LBN) presentations are now open.
LBN provides an opportunity to present important new findings obtained after the regular paper deadline.
- Presentation Format: Poster only (not eligible for poster awards)
- Abstract Deadline: 24:00 (UTC) on Monday, November 3rd
Submission Guidelines
- English Abstracts Only: Submit online via the same system used for regular papers.
- Template Required: Use the official Word template and convert it to PDF for submission.
- Confirmation Email: You will receive confirmation after successful submission. Notification of acceptance will follow peer review.
- Revisions Accepted Until Deadline: Abstracts can be edited or re-uploaded before the deadline. No changes are permitted after November 3, 2025
- No Duplicate Submissions: Presenters with accepted regular presentations may submit one LBN abstract, but content must be distinct from regular presentations. Switching formats from regular to LBN is not allowed. Only one LBN submission per presenter is permitted.

The organizing committee of MRM2025 welcomes the submission of abstracts for your latest materials research via this meeting website.
Three reasons to submit an abstract to MRM2025:
- You can participate in discussions on cutting-edge topics that transcend traditional material classifications, including excellent review lectures by world-renowned researchers, as well as invited and general presentations.
- Distinguished researchers and engineers from around the world will gather to share the current state of research and future challenges, allowing you to expand your professional academic network.
- You can present and discuss the latest research findings in oral and poster sessions alongside leading researchers in your field.
We are looking forward to having your active participation to the MRM2025 and to seeing you at Yokohama, Japan in December 2025.
Submission Instructions
- All abstracts must be written in English and submitted via the online submission system.
- Please use the abstract template (Microsoft Word), which must be converted into its PDF version for submission.
- After successfully submitting your abstract, you will receive a submission confirmation by e-mail.
- Once the abstract is submitted, changes, corrections, or reuploading of the abstract are possible until the submission deadline. Any modifications requested after the deadline will not be accepted.
- Each account holder can submit two abstracts at maximum as the presenter.
- Please select the symposium corresponding to your submission.
- Abstract Submissions Deadline May 30, 2025 June 13, 2025.

MRM Poster Award 2025
The MRM Poster Award 2025 aims to recognize outstanding presentations among the research works presented at the poster sessions of MRM2025. This award honors scientists and engineers with exceptional abilities who are expected to make significant contributions to materials research in the future.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be the first author and presenter of the poster. Invited speakers of the symposium are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be under 40 years old as of December 31 of the presentation year.
Evaluation Criteria
Poster presentations will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Comprehensibility of the presentation and appropriateness of responses during Q&A
- Clarity of visual and oral presentation
- Excellence and significance of the research, etc.
Evaluation Process
- The evaluation will be conducted during the scheduled poster sessions.
- Those who wish to apply for the Poster Award must indicate their application at the time of presentation submission.
Selection and Announcement of Awardees
- Candidates for the award will be selected for each symposium.
- After the evaluation of all symposia is completed, the final awardees will be determined by the Award Committee based on specific criteria.
- Awardees will receive a certificate of recognition, and their names will be published on the MRM2025 official website and in MRS-Japan News.

- The award evaluation will not be conducted in the C-2 Symposium. This award is open to applicants from all symposia except the C-2 Symposium.
PRESENTATION GUIDE
MRM2025 will take place as a face-to-face meeting, and all events will be held at the venue in Yokohama. English is the official language of this conference. Authors who will deliver a presentation (Oral / Poster) will be asked to present their work in person.
Oral Presentation
We kindly request that you bring your own PC for your presentation.
When it's time to present, approach the lectern and connect your PC using an HDMI connector.
Poster Presentation
Please refer to the schedule below to set up your poster at your assigned time. Stand in front of your poster during the discussion time to address any questions, and then remove your poster. Please note that presenters are responsible for removing their own posters by the assigned removal time. If the presenter does not complete this within the specified time frame, the poster will not be returned to the presenter.
