Symposium C-3
Kink-Strengthened Materials

Scope

It has been found that the kink strengthening discovered in the long-period stacking ordered (LPSO) structure also occurs in the mille-feuille structure (MFS). In this symposium, we will discuss the development of materials with LPSO and MFS structures and the mechanisms of kink formation and kink strengthening.

Topics

  • Development of advanced materials having LPSO and MFS structure
  • Kink formation mechanism of advanced materials having LPSO and MFS structure
  • Kink strengthening mechanism of advanced materials having LPSO and MFS structure

Symposium Keynote

Yasushi ShibutaThe University of Tokyo
Next-generation simulation of microstructure formation via molecular dynamics and generative AI

Invited Speakers

  • Katsumi Hagita, National Defense Academy: Large-scale CGMD simulations to study mechanical properties of mille-feuille structures introducing kink structures through pre-stretching
