Symposium E-4
Emerging Materials, Methods, and Mechanisms to Recycle Surplus Energy: Light, Heat, Moisture, Motion, & Chemistry
Scope
This symposium would target a wide array of researchers focussed on energy harvesting and conversion from excess and/or ambient energy, encompassing topics including: Piezoelectricity; Triboelectricity; Indoor Light Harvesting; Moisture Energy Generators; Thermoelectricity; Pyroelectricity; Magnetoelectricity among others. This would fall under the Cluster topic of “Materials for Energy Conversion” while also aligning to “Green Technology and Processing” and “Materials for Smart Systems
Topics
- Energy from Motion: Piezoelectricity, Triboelectricity, Flexoelectricity, and Magentoelectricity
- Energy fom (Small) Water: Moisture Energy Generation; Droplet Energy Generation; Gradient Humidity Harvesting
- Recycled Energy: Indoor Light Harvesting; Thermoelectricity; Pyroelectricity
- New pathways to use harvested energy - from sustainable chemistry to sensing.
- Multimodal materials: New materials which display multifunctionality for heat, light, and/or motion energy harvesting
